‘Ello!

Welcome to Tuesday! And a tornado warning. How exciting. Were all of you in chapel this morning? Anybody sent to hide in the basement? I was sitting in the back, so I didn’t even have to move. Score. But I’m sad Todd’s time was cut short. Doesn’t the weather know I make sure to get up for chapel if he’s speaking? Rude, weather. Just rude.

Okay enough about me. And the weather. Career Development! We’re offering a new service soon that you should get ready for.

If you are a freshman or sophomore without a declared major, pay attention! We are going to be having Major Exploration workshops three days a week: Monday evenings, Thursday late-afternoons and Friday mornings. These will be in lieu of your first appointment with Jo DuMontelle. You’ll need to bring your laptop, because you’ll be going over the results from your Career Exploration & Assessments. From then on, you’ll have the traditional one-on-one appointments.

The workshops are not yet finalized, so if you try to RSVP for one you won’t be able to. But soon!

If you have a major, you will not need to attend one of these workshops. Freshmen and sophomores, you will still have to complete the assessments before meeting with Judy Johnson, but you do not have to go to a workshop.

Also, don’t forget, this evening, OneAmerica will be hosting an informational open house from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Tower Cafeteria at OneAmerican Square. Pizza and soft drinks will be served. To attend, you must have RSVPed by October 22. So if you did, don’t forget to go!

Upcoming November career fairs and on-campus recruiting days:

Experience Mission will be recruiting on campus November 2, from 9 to 2 in the BOD. They are accepting résumés for summer internships. For more information, please visit experiencemission.org.

HealthCare Career Day is November 3, from 10:30 to 2 in Reardon Lobby.

Technology Career Day is November 10, from 9 to 2 in Reardon Lobby.

That’s all for this blustery Tuesday afternoon. I hope your days are going well, and classes aren’t too too stressful. See you soon! :]
